Moët Hennessy Australia went to market for managed IT services in 2005. Tardis Services was chosen to provide desktop, server and remote support to all staff in Australia and New Zealand. Eighteen months later, LVMH Group in France chose to consolidate its entire Windows® domain and outsource to a single global services provider. That provider took ownership of Moët Hennessy Australia’s business in 2007. Service levels fell dramatically, complaints from end users rose exponentially and after months spent trying to rectify the problems, Moët Hennessy went back to the marketplace, investigated its options and entered into a new agreement with Tardis.

The best business intelligence software:
  • Delivers trusted information for a single version of the truth
  • Lets you work with information the way you want – reports, dashboards, scorecards
  • Puts tools in your hands to author and share information as you require
Business Intelligence delivers the complete range of BI capabilities on a single, service-oriented architecture (SOA). Gain more value from your existing investment and data sources.

Business Intelligence capabilities

Author, use and share any type of report – drawing on any data source. Present business intelligence information in a consistent and easy-to-use way.

Analyse and Report against online analytical processing (OLAP) and dimensionally aware relational data sources. Spot trends and see your business from a variety of dimensions.

Build easy-to-use scorecards to align your teams and tactics with strategy. Communicate business goals company-wide and let people monitor performance against their targets.

Communicate complex information quickly with a range of easy-to-build dashboards.

Increase the value of your business intelligence and its ease of use with BI on mobile devices, information search and applications designed for popular platforms.

You can have complete BI functionality in one platform on a single, proven architecture. It delivers seamless reporting, analysis, scorecarding, dashboards and event management. This simplifies your IT environment and the way everyone works with information. The result is high user adoption, better decisions, and greater agility across the organisation.

Reporting with BI offers organisations the single, Web-based, complete solution for all components of the reporting lifecycle: collaborative reporting; enterprise-wide report types; reports that can be authored once, and consumed anywhere; and a solution that is adaptable to any data source. You can perform multidimensional analysis quickly and easily. Access and analyse large data sets efficiently with fast and predictable response times. View trends over time and isolate and explore issues, drilling down to details and moving from one dimension, or level of information, to another.

With the dashboarding capability complex information can be communicated quickly. It translates information from your various corporate systems and data into visually rich presentations using gauges, maps, charts and other graphical elements to show multiple results together.

Use scorecarding with BI to create the single and trusted source of performance data that business users need to monitor their performance against targets.

BI Performance Blueprints are available for many solution areas to accelerate deployment and deliver faster time to value. They allow organisations to apply proven practices quickly, with less risk while maintaining the flexibility to tailor the solution to their specific organisational requirements.

Redefining X

Workloads are growing, data is exploding, and memory-intensive applications need more than raw processing power, they need more memory to maximize performance. Enterprise X-Architecture allows System x and BladeCenter® systems to boost performance and minimize licensing costs by de-coupling memory from the processor. This allows businesses to add memory as needed without necessarily adding servers.

IBM eX5 enterprise systems deliver extraordinary value and investment protection for enterprise-level virtualization, database, and transaction processing.

IBM eX5 systems benefits

IBM eX5 enterprise systems, featuring the Intel® Xeon® processor 7500 series and Intel Xeon processor 6500 series, are designed to help your business:

  • Maximise memory
  • Minimise cost
  • Simplify deployment
And all of the benefits in the eX5 portfolio of systems are easy to acquire, own and manage and include OnForever™ reliability for maximum availability.

IBM eX5 systems innovations include:

MAX5 – Unprecedented memory expansion with the external MAX5 memory chassis, decoupling server memory from system processors to allow you to optimise your server performance
eXFlash – Get dramatically faster I/O, with greater storage density and improved reliability
FlexNode – Gain the ability to re-deploy your server on a project-by-project basis for superior asset utilization and workload management
Scalability – Updating IBM’s innovative ‘pay-as-you-grow’ capability by enabling all eX5 servers to scale
Workload optimised systems – Delivering specific workload-tuned models to minimise your time to value by leveraging IBM’s industry expertise.

IBM BladeCenter blade servers support a wide selection of processor technologies and operating systems to allow clients to run all of their diverse workloads inside a single architecture. Reduce complexity, improve systems management, and increase flexibility while driving down total cost of ownership.

IBM BladeCenter blade server advantages:
  • X.86 processor-based servers
  • POWER processor-based servers
  • Cell/B.E processor-based servers
The IBM BladeCenter HX5 is a scalable, high-performance blade server with unprecedented compute and memory performance and flexibility ideal for database and virtualised applications.
